Ornitil Injection | 100ml

Ornitil helps to transform toxic products, resulting from the metabolization of proteins, into less toxic substances, which can be excreted or reused. The main metabolite produced by these reactions is ammonia, which must be transformed into urea by the urea or Krebs-Henseleit cycle. During the cycle, the participation of Ornithine, Citrulline and Arginine are fundamental for the transformation of ammonia and elimination of urea.

PRODUCT INDICATION

Ornitil is indicated for horses as an aid to liver metabolism and treatment of the deficient states of the ingredients that make up the product formula.

HOW TO USE

ORNITIL® should be used intravenously in horses, once a day, for 4 to 7 days.
Horses: 10 to 30mL for every 100kg of body weight.

PRECAUTIONS

Ornitil should be used only by slow intravenous route with all asepsis precautions for administration of intravenous infusions, always under the supervision of the Veterinary Doctor who must follow the instructions for use and dosages present on the product label.

SIDE EFFECTS

Vomiting, dizziness and local venous irritation may occasionally occur. Overdoses can cause transient metabolic acidosis and hyperventilation.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

The product is contraindicated in animals with chronic renal failure.
